About This Product

Who knows what the storm will blow in…Casey's cabin in the wilderness is not built for a hurricane. Her roof shakes, the lights flicker, and the tree outside her front door sways ominously in the wind. But she's a lot more worried about the girl she discovers lurking outside her kitchen window. She’s young. She’s alone. And she’s covered in blood. The girl won't explain where she came from or loosen her grip on the knife in her right hand. And when Casey makes a disturbing discovery in the middle of the night, things take a turn for the worse. The girl has a dark secret. One she’ll kill to keep. And if Casey gets too close to the truth, she may not live to see the morning. In this taut, deadly tale of survival and desperation, #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden explores how far one girl will go to save herself.

Customer Reviews Summary

🚬 Book Review 🚬Out NowMy Rating : ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ 💫 3.75 Unsettling StarsOk this is my 10th McFadden book I do believe and I think this was the most unsettling read for me yet 👀This started off slow for me , but then I asked Alexa to play me some eerie stormy music in the background and it definitely added to my reading experience. In true Freida fashion , she wrote The Intruder with her famous short snappy chapters and your typical unreliable narrators. This story bounced back and forth between past and present and dual POV .A storm is a brewing and Casey who lives in a cabin in the middle of woods is nervous about her roof about to blow off, but what she doesn’t expect is to see a face peeking in the window 🪟 and thinks someone is outside her door …Casey takes it upon herself to investigate…only to come across a young girl covered in blood …and she’s still alive .When there was about 30% left to read this is where things really picked up for me and I felt like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz getting blown all over the place !!This was a quick easy read that slowly entertained me and left me feeling unsettled at times , but also found myself really loving the characters and almost felt pity for them. There are trigger warnings so check out Freida’s link first before jumping in if things do trigger you easily 🖤Overall glad I read this and might I add I did not see one of the twists at the end coming 😮😮
