I've live by the sea and it can get very windy - without the mic with the furry hat, the audio can barely be heard. With the remote mic with the furry hat the sound quality is far, far better. I would attach videos demonstrating the difference, but I recorded them using WhatsApp and find I can't do that. The kit comes with two mics, both with furry hats attached, plus two sponge hats. The mics clip onto clothing, and have USB connectors for charging. A double USB cable is provided. The receiver plugs into the USB port on your phone (Type C) and uses the phone to power it. Only one receiver is provided. A couple of USB adaptors are provided for USB Type A to Type C and from Apple Lighting to Type C. The mic has an on/off switch on the back. Easy to use. I can't comment on battery life. I think they are great, the size of the mics are 2 1/2 inches or 60mm, so reasonably discreet. I have a Samsung S21+ and I think I had to turn on 'OTG' before I could record audio. The furry hats are elasticated at the base, whereas the foam hats just push on. I haven't tried the foam hats. Build quality seems good, everything seems very robust. I haven't tried using both mics at the same time, i.e. if you were interviewing someone. I really like using the remote mic. Great fun.
