I don’t even know where to begin with my thoughts on this book - I absolutely loved it!Definitely one of my top reads of the year. High/epic fantasy at its best!This is such a beautiful, cleverly crafted book. The plot is addictive and has so many elements woven through it. It’s full of mystery, action and political intrigue with lots of plot twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. There is deception from just about everyone- so many different agendas and plots to keep up with which creates great tension.The world building is epic and so immersive. The magic system is fascinating and while it is complex it is not too difficult to understand. The characters are well developed and have depth. Vis is the main character and the whole story is told from his pov.I’ve got book 2 ready to go and after that insane ending I can’t wait to get stuck in!
