The artwork for The Mountain sees Jamie Hewlett's distinct, yet ever-evolving, style illustrate the world of Gorillaz with an ever more detailed and beautiful intricacy across a series of hand-drawn illustrations. Circumstances find Murdoc Niccals, Russel Hobbs, 2D and Noodle in India, where our heroes are immersed in the rhythms of mystical music-making as they navigate the mountainous terrain of this thing called life.

I'm absolutely loving this album. I loved Gorillaz back in the day, up to Plastic Beach but then I pretty much forgot about them after that. This album is going to be in my all time favourite list for years to come, it draws you in with the track The Mountain, which is pure beauty and then just is consistently great throughout. So many positive songs that deal with death and then using vocals from artists that are no longer with us in such an upbeat, positive way. It really is a work of genius and I can't stop listening to it.As for the actual CD, it's beautifully presented with a stunning art book. Album of the year for me. Cant see anything else topping this this year.
