About This Product

Resident Evil Origins Collection contains both the critically acclaimed, previously released Resident Evil HD and the upcoming Resident Evil 0. In the original Resident Evil, players choose to take on the role of either S.T.A.R.S. team member Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, who have been sent into the city to find the missing Bravo team. With limited ammo and survival items available, gamers need to keep their wits about them to survive the various trapstraps and puzzles that greet them at every stage. Resident Evil 0 takes players back to 1998. Reports have been mounting about unusual murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The city's Special Forces D=division, S.T.A.R.S. send their Bravo Team to investigate, including rookie cop member Rebecca Chambers, who meets death row convict and ex-Navy lieutenant Billy Coen. Customer Reviews Summary

Fantastic set of classic games that look amazing now that they have been giving a nice polish up. I have not ever played resident evil zero but I am sure I will get around to it at some stage. This review is about the big one.Resident Evil Original (the very first in its name) is the beacon of old school proper survival horror and its what started the entire genre. Its a game that should be treasured for its original ideas. Not only is it tricky in places but its a rare game these days where you actually have to use your brain. I love solving puzzles its such a buzz when you figure it out. The tank controls are still there, which are a huge reason why these games are so popular too. It adds vulnerability. When you get frustrated with the controls you are also rewarded with relief when you pass it. It also generates fear, lots of it and I love being scared. Its a buzz!Anyway this is a really great upgrade, I loved the lightning and the shadows they were particularly impressive. They have put different things in to spice it up, some things I appreciated and some things I really didn't (Crimson heads GAAAAH!! Word of advise, BURN AS MANY BODIES AS YOU WILL ALLOW YOURSELF TIME TO Crimson's they are an absolute nightmare on bullets and health). There is a bit in it where one of the windows is banging away and you can see it until you move up a bit and you see the shadow of a zombie trying to get in. I really loved that it was a cool little touch to put in. There are also zombie shadows that cross over the wall behind you if they pass in front of light etc. Its cool! The mansion is the same as the original and you will recognise a lot of the layout no problem, it just looks a million times better now, they got new carpets and curtains in lol. I am not sure if they did this in the original version but one or two doors break close to the middle of the game and you have to make your way around them. Did they really have to do that? REALLY? WHY? But in another way it is good to get used to the layout so you don't have to look at the map every time you want to turn a corner "damn it which way am I facing now?"If you are considering buying this game but are not sure if it is as good as the original I am here to reassure you that it is 10 times the original game with added control over the screen (widescreen or original) and character controls. The cheesy dialogue and atrocious acting has been slightly altered but is still there so don't worry, they would never get rid of that. We need more games like this and I CANT WAIT for the second game to be given the same quality upgrade as this one. I honestly think I will have to take time off work to give it my proper attention. While this one is amazing, Res 2 was second to no other game. when that comes out the world will be lost to me lol.Just buy it, it really is worthy of the times and I imagine it always will be. Its a classic after all and has gripped an entire generation of gamers.Long live tank controls and fixed camera angles!Long live games that don't put me to sleep!!
