I needed an RFID blocking box for my car keys which could be vulnerable to wireless key car theft attacks from the street. This box is large enough to hold a mobile smart phone and I used this to test the effectiveness of the shielding. With the phone in the box and with the lid closed I was unable to call it. Mobile phones use quite strong signals so this seemed like a good test to me. Interestingly the lid does need to be firmly shut – the slightest gap and the radio waves can get in. I also tried using a tin biscuit box or similar and it is *not* an effective solution - this actually works!The box is an excellent size. Although in theory principally for car keys, I find it a useful place to keep all my car paraphernalia – sunglasses, gloves etc. It's one tidy place for all and as my needs are “mandatory” for the keys it makes sense to keep other car things together.It seems to be well made and looks stylish. Two key-ring RFID blocking wallets were included, convenient if going away without the box, and also some credit card RFID blocking holders. Useful perhaps if trying to protect particular bank cards from accidentally triggering an unwanted payment e.g on buses.Overall a useful and stylish product.
