I think for most Queen fans the main reason for buying this album is the re-recording of the Smile song “Not for sale (Polar Bear)” (at least they didn’t save this songs for the boxset, like they did with “Hangman”), which has a nice American West Coast, Laurel Canyon feel. There is also the B-side “Not for Sale”, which is rhythm and blues work out, a bit Led Zeppelin & a bit tongue & cheek. It was a good idea that it was left off of “II” as it would have stuck out like a sore thumb.The rest of the second disc of the album is bare bones of the songs from “II”, it's really interest to hear these tracks without all the bells n’ whistles, to say that "Queen II" is OTT would be the understatement of the year! My favourite track on the bonus disc “As it Began”, which features just Brain on vocals & electric guitar, could not be more contrasting to the finish song.Unlike last years release of "Queen I" , "Queen II" album doesn’t sound that much different from the 2011 edition, so if you are considering getting this, it will be just for the bonus disc.
