Pastel 24-count $4.47 — buy for the backpack; ignore $9.99 list

BIC Pastel 24-Pack Is $4.47 Live — The 40-Count Hits $7.49 for the Same 0.7mm Lead

Live Amazon buy boxes today: BIC Xtra-Smooth Pastel 24-count at $4.47 (list $9.99) and BIC Xtra-Smooth 40-count at $7.49. About 18.6¢ vs 18.7¢ a pencil. I would buy for count, not for a different lead.
