Probably, after “Dark Side.. “ this is the most acclaimed Pink Floyd album, and fifty years after release, it gets a new birthday release.Anyone over the age of 50, and is into the prog rock genre will already own this recording in one form or another, but it’s still worth the investment in this new edition for the extra disc full of rarities, and alternative versions.To here “Shine On” as one complete piece is sublime.This album could have been so different if compositions such as “Gotta Be Crazy” and “Raving And Drooling” (later reworked into the “Animals” album) were included.However that’s in the past, and the album as originally released still to this day stands up as one of the truly great prog rock masterpieces.Any of you millennials who want a taste of brilliance, look no further.
