Customer Reviews Summary

I first learned about this series on Reddit, then was loaned the first book by a friend who told me he was sucked in and immediately bought every book in the series. Before I had a chance to start reading, my roommate picked it up just to check it out and never put it down. When it was my turn to start reading, I was barely a third of the way through before I told my husband he would love the book too. We’ve recommended it to several friends who are reading the series as well. And you, Amazon Review Browser, should definitely and totally 100% read this series without delay! Now, on to Book 3: I’m not kidding when I tell you that I gasped out loud on several occasions while reading. Of course, I laugh out loud all the time during the series, and so does my husband while he’s reading. We bought the hardcover versions while reading the first book, and the guys were taking too long to finish (I read fast), so I finally just signed up for Kindle Unlimited so I could read it at the same time (and since the next releases of the back catalog are staggered and I just can’t wait for them—I’m addicted!), so we read this one at the same time and would laugh about the jokes together. But this book isn’t just funny. It’s exciting. It’s dramatic. It’s inspiring. The breakneck pace keeps tensions high and I’m always on the edge of my seat, pages turning in a flurry as I watch Carl, Donut and Katia fight to survive and help others escape the ever-increasing dangers of the dungeon. The stakes were high in this book (of course), but the external forces were matched by interpersonal drama between the crawlers which gave us some great surprises. The character development is impressive given how the action is usually center stage. And the story keeps pulling back the curtain on the conspiracies and intergalactic drama going on behind the scenes of the Crawl that I can’t wait to see more of.No spoilers here, folks, just go read the books already. You won’t be disappointed. If you want a true adventure you cannot put down, this series is it, and this book is a great addition to the line. I am going to start the next book immediately. They are not going to break Carl, just like Matt Dinniman won’t break his streak of incredible storytelling. Glurp, glurp, m*thaf*ckas!
