Customer Reviews Summary

I’ve been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl, though I am not usually a lit-RPG reader. I read Sci-Fi and Fantasy a lot (both stand alone and series). This series can get complex, which is my biggest complaint. I find myself skipping lines or not bothering to remember some things because it is just too complex and doesn’t add to the story for me. This specifically refers to the substoryline I would say, or things the characters have to do to go complete tasks. However, I do like the overall story and characters. I love the concept throughout the series, Carl and his friends, and the drama that goes with it. The comedy is great, but is more satire and I would check a couple books before letting your teens read this in case it is something you wouldn’t approve of yet.Overall, this has not been a 5 star series all around for me, but this book was much better than the others and left at a great ending and cliffhanger, making me want to continue. I have appreciated other books much more than this, and have read books in the middle of Dungeon Crawler Carl due to lost interest and the satire jokes just not doing it for me, but I do come back because I am interested to see how this ends.Would I recommend the series - not to everyone! If you are into satire, yes. If not, do not bother, because this series gets into sexual jokes and hardcore gruesome violence. If you are into lit-RPG, yes. If neither of those, then just look elsewhere for good Sci-fi/fantasy books. I have even been careful as to who I have mentioned this title to, only because the text may offend some crowds. But it really is a decent series if you don’t mind the satire.
