For the price, it's perfect for just wanting to watch DVDs on my laptop. I did have to download DVD software from the Microsoft store, but it was free and worked with this device with no issue. Cord length is short but workable. It is pretty quiet, just a light hum. Easy to use and I like the little velvet back it came with.
