I love a good enemies-to-lovers trope, but this one is, by far, my absolute favorite. Rachel Reid has just moved all the way up in my list of favorite authors. Game Changers, the series, has me by the heart; Heated Rivalry has me the throat.This forbidden love incorporates desire, competition, passion, self-discovery, and even the attractIon and loneliness of hiding a relationship. The elongated time span illustrates the stolen moments, the realities of fear and loneliness, but it also highlights the intensity of passion.The characters, Shane and Ilya, have bled themselves into this story with relatability, desire, humanity, and...heated rivalry. I want to shout to the sky about them with vengeance and fervor in hopes of everyone adoring them as much as I do. Love is beautiful, and their story burns bright and lights up my world.Heated Rivalry will continue to smolder my pages, because the spice is 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 and I'll treasure for eternity.
