Nils Wülker - Confidence Confidence, the now released fifteenth album of the according to Crescendo sound ingenious trumpeter and exceptional composer Nils Wülker, radiates the life energy of the title - in many wonderful ways. The eleven own compositions, recorded in the quartet with the jazz stars Aaron Parks (Grammy winner on the side of Terence Blanchard or Joshua Redman) on the piano, Linda May Han Oh on double bass (Grammy winner, among others with Pat Metheny or Kenny Barron) and according to Jazz Magazine Drummer of his generation Greg Hutchinson, consciously push the Echo winner and top ten jazzer Nils Wülker out of his comfort zone into a beautiful, new sound world. Wülker's personal sound is haunting and unmistakable, the result is still surprising. Together, the four have created an album in just three and a half days full of community creativity in the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin (U2, David Bowei, Depeche Mode etc.) that is equally contemporary as it is trend-setting - and full of confidence in its strong melodies and fabulous interplay. The result speaks for itself: Confidence is a very organic, vibrant album in every note, which the compositions of the leader in combination with the creative collaboration of the three other band members give enormous size and elegance, a constantly overwhelming energy.
