This book had me questioning everything and trying to connect the dots until 3 a.m. It was a fantastic read with such rich, deep world development — done right. I never read Manacled, and I know that was the original version of this story, but after comparing notes with others who have read the author’s fanfiction, they’ve said it stays very true to the original while being reworked in the best possible way.The emotional toll this book took on me was unreal. There were moments I was literally screaming at the pages, stressed, heartbroken, and completely invested in every twist and reveal. This is a very dark story, and at times the content might make you question whether you want to keep going — but it is absolutely worth it.I truly enjoyed this read and will definitely be rereading it. I would highly recommend this book to any dark romance reader. You’ll definitely pick up on the Harry Potter vibes at times, and if you love emotionally intense, gut-punch stories with incredible world-building, this one delivers. Definitely a 5-star read!
