Customer Reviews Summary
These work, and they last many hours. If you put them in a zip-loc bag and make an effort to limit air remaining in the bag, they also go more or less dormant and reheat nicely. You really can't do the dormant-reheat cycle more than twice and get a lot of further heat. Hence, they make the most sense if you have lots of hours of cold exposure in a row or in closely clumped sequences. The heat is quite intense so they are best used in your palms, which leads to the biggest limitation. With gloves, they may not help your fingers much if you have poor circulation or Raynaud's phenomenon unless you take breaks and wrap your uncovered hand around them. With fingered mitts (the 2&3/4&5 split configuration), they are better but the thumb can still get cold. Best use case is in a very well-insulated mitt with no finger sheaths so the hand can curl around the heated packet for a quick warm-up of all digits as needed. I also got good results using the heated packet with thin-walled gloves inside an uncompartmented mitt.
