This book was my introduction to Dungeon Crawler Carl. I had gotten the Audible copy for free through a promo and figured it was a free book, and who cares if it's book four. The minute the audiobook was over, I mounted the Kindle edition and started reading it. I've now read the whole series (Books 1-7), and this book remains my favourite. I think Matt hits his stride with this book, and it just flows together. The dungeon world is great, the character development sets up the next books with great payoffs, and even reading the book out of order didn't really mess me up. It was fun to go back and read books 1-3 and start putting everything together.Should you start with this book? probably not, but can you? Yes, you can. And will you enjoy it? Absolutly
