I had not exerted any amount of excessive force on the headphones or not thrown them around either. I have a perfectly functioning pair of JBL headphones that I have used for 3 years that has dropped to the ground, slammed into a wall, etc. without any physical damage and which still works perfectly. But these? I keep them safely in a bag when I'm not using them and one day, I pull the headphones out of the bag and the hinge is broken with a horseshoe-like thing falling out of it. I called Sony's customer care as they like to advertise their "1-Year " and what do you know? They cover physical damage conveniently only for 90 days. To get this issue fixed, I have to pay Microland, which is Sony's partner that fixes all of their stuff, $155 + tax! That's more than what I bought these for! This is not some 1 in a million issue. If you search up "Sony headphones hinge broken", you'd find countless people who have had the same problem with this model or other models as well. Sony just refuses to fix them. The sound may be good, but the absolutely horrible build quality makes these not worth it at all. Do not buy these unless you want a pair of $100+ single-use headphonesRead moreRead less<img src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/S/amazon-avatars-global/default._SX48_.png"/>Amogh1 out of 5 starsDo not even consider buyingReviewed in Canada on January 2, 2025Colour Name: BlackVerified PurchaseWhen I bought these headphones, i was pretty satisfied with the sound quality and all the customization options on sony's app. However in the 4th month of me having bought these, the hinge on the headphone's right earpiece broke, splitting completely in half as shown in the images. Customer Reviews Summary
I have been on Amazon for over 10 years now and bought over 500 items in that time.Without a doubt, these headphones are my ABSOLUTE BEST PURCHASE among these 500. And I'm a picky grouch, I don't leave good reviews just to be nice, cause truth is more important.I've been using them every day for the past year, about 4-10 hours a day.PROS:- they hold the charge for a very long time. Most days, I'd be using them for around 6 hours of active play and there would be 80-90% charge left.- they eliminate outside noises VERY WELL, regular home noises and human speech - by 80% I'd say. Far better than other 6 pairs of headphones I owned.- they don't hurt. Definitely the one and only model that doesn't hurt ear or head, unlike others which I could not use for more than 2 hours.- they are excellent to block out kids!!!! And have an hour of peace!- they have really good connection. If the iPad is on the main floor, I can easily go to the second floor or basement and still hear the music/speech. I'd say, they are perfectly fine up to 10-12 meters.- they do not disconnect from your device willy-nilly. Even when the connection isn't very good, like in a bathroom or room far away, they still remain connected about 90% of the time.- they work for small female ears like mine, and don't "sit" on them. The ear doesn't have to hold the weight of the earphones.- sound quality is excellent, I never need to go over 20-25% of volume.CONS - there aren't any, for real. Like I said, I've used them for hundreds of hours and they are the best thing for the money. I got them on Black Friday sale for $126 Canadian dollars (regular price is $250).They give me peace, they give me quiet, they are just the best.
