I'm 6'4" and I have to bend over to use this tool effectively. Works best on concrete and other flat surfaces but also works on asphalt with more effort. The spring loaded handle is a blessing and a curse. Definitely takes away the shock pains but you also can't put that gorrila force behind it either due to the spring absorbing the Force. It's very lightweight so not much inertia to carry through with but you don't much either once the ice starts to chunck apart it will glide through the ice like butter. Seriously, if you find the correct angles; it'll plow right through/under 1" thick ice and make the ice look like your phone screen just fell off the empire State building and landed screen down on a tiny pebble.... Take a shovel and scoop away the chunks of ice after and you'll be left with pristine ice free sidewalks and driveways. I've spent a couple winters with it now and the few times I do use it it's been amazing! I've kicked it around while using it and given it donkey kicks against ice and it's still 98-99% health on the blade. Entire thing is metal construction so it'll last. Blade is a good balance between wide and narrow. I would have preferred a more narrow blade for tighter spaces and more focused force applications on stubborn ice patches but I can't really complain because it helps get the bulk of the ice so much faster!
