A true tear-jerking classic from beloved children's author Robert Munsch.32 years ago I started reading this to my oldest child. It brought me to tears every time I read it! 3 more children later, it was always a favourite bedtime book that still made me cry!My paperback copy was lost either in a flood or in one of many moves; I just know it was missing in action, and when I saw the hardcover version available, I knew I HAD to have another copy. My children are all adults and while I may have many years to wait still to learn if I'll ever be a grandmother, it's proudly displayed with my "for fun" books on my bookshelf. I know that I'll still cry when I read it, because of the swell of emotions I will feel as I sing the song again, even if it's in my head.A must have book for any child, of any age. The powerful message of telling a child they'll be loved forever is so important today.
