I purchased the Lexar D40E 128GB Dual USB-C storage drive, mainly to transfer photos from my iPhone 16 to Windows PC, and it worked very well for that purpose.Windows tends to handle large file transfers from iPhone quite poorly when using a direct connection. But I used the Files app to move my photos to the Lexar drive, then I moved them from the drive to the Windows PC. This was a much more reliable (and quicker) method for moving large photo libraries.What I like:- Dual USB connections means that I can effortlessly use this on my iPhone, MacBook Pro, and Windows PC without issue.- The 128GB storage is more than enough for anything I’d be using it for, even the large batches of photos from my phone barely made a dent in the available storage.- The build quality is excellent, the housing is metal and premium, the swivel mechanism is firm and well-built. It doesn’t feel loose, or like it will accidentally rotate in a pocket or bag.- The metal feels solid and I don’t see it retaining any scratches or dents during regular use or travel.What I don’t like:- One of the two ends is always exposed. Without any cover or cap, the swivel only covers one side at a time, leaving the other side unprotected when it isn’t plugged in. Not the biggest deal, but something to be aware of. You could easily buy a cover to protect it.Overall, this drive serves me very efficiently and was very convenient when being used to move large photo libraries or files from a mobile device to a computer. Simple and reliable.
