These work great if you surround the bait with these things. See the pic. Apple cider vinegar in the bowl. Worked just as well using an old piece of fruit and placed one of the things over the top. Never caught a thing by just placing these around the house until I saw a comment about doing this. Got rid of those fruit flies in about 3 days
