Sony INZONE Buds Hit $153: Buy Them for the Dongle, Not for Your Phone
Amazon has Sony's WF-G700N gaming earbuds at $153, down from $239.99. I like the 2.4 GHz latency. I do not like the missing Bluetooth Classic. Here is who this deal is actually for.

I do not review gaming peripherals as a lifestyle. I review them the way I used to debug a build: what is the interface, what is the latency, and what did the spec sheet hide in footnote nine. The Sony INZONE Buds (model WF-G700N, black ASIN B0CJHB7B59) are a 2.4 GHz earbud with a USB-C dongle. SoundGuys had them at $153 on August 19, 2026, down from a $239.99 list. That is 36% off and the lowest price they have tracked.
$153 is a real number. The catch is also real: these buds do not speak Bluetooth Classic. If you wanted one pair for the PS5 and the iPhone, stop reading and buy something else.
The one thing that matters: the radio
Sony shipped a USB-C transceiver in the box. You plug it into a PS5, a Windows PC, or a phone that will take a USB-C audio dongle, flip the PC/PS5 switch, and you get Sony's claimed sub-30 ms 2.4 GHz link. That is the product.
Bluetooth on these buds is LE Audio / LC3 only. No SBC. No AAC. No LDAC. Sony says it in the listing. SoundGuys and IGN said it in their reviews. iPhone and iPad are out. A lot of Android phones are out unless they do LE Audio and you enjoy gambling.
I will not dress that up. A gaming bud that cannot be a daily driver on the phone you already own is a specialist tool. At $240 list, that specialist tax felt high. At $153, it is a conversation.

ANC, mics, battery — without the brochure
ANC. There is an active noise-canceling mode and an ambient mode. It is good enough to dull a tower fan and a roommate's TV. It is not XM6-earbud ANC. You are buying these to hear footsteps, not to disappear on a 737.
Mics. Sony put an AI noise-reject mic in the bud. Fine for Discord and party chat. I would not take a client standup on them if I had a wired headset on the desk. The INZONE Hub app on Windows is where you set game/chat balance, EQ, and tap controls. That software is a Windows app. PS5 users get on-screen battery and volume. Mac users get less.
Battery. Sony quotes up to 12 hours on the buds and 48 hours with the case on the LE Audio path. The 2.4 GHz path is closer to 12 hours on-head plus case reserves. A five-minute charge is supposed to give about an hour. I treat those as manufacturer claims, not lab results I ran.
Fit. They sit shallow. FNATIC consulted on the shape. I can wear them through a raid night. I cannot wear them on a run — no IP rating worth trusting for sweat, and the hooks are not Powerbeats hooks.
Who this $153 cut is for
- You play on PS5 or Windows PC and you hate over-ear headsets after two hours.
- You will leave the dongle in the console and stop expecting these to be your commute buds.
- You want ANC in the room, not ANC on a plane.
If that is you, $153 versus $239.99 is value over hype. You are paying for a radio and a mic, not for a lifestyle brand.
Who should skip it
- iPhone. Full stop. No Bluetooth Classic, no LE Audio on iOS in a way that makes this pair useful.
- You want one bud for the train and the desk. Buy Pixel Buds Pro 2 or Sony's WF-1000XM6 for that job.
- You need a 3.5 mm cable or a USB-C analog fallback. There isn't one.
- The listing is not Sold by Amazon / Sony, or the price has bounced back over $200. Then the specialist tax returns.
How I would spend the money
I keep a closed-back headset for ranked nights and a normal ANC bud for the rest of life. The INZONE Buds replace the headset if, and only if, you prefer in-ears. They do not replace a daily driver.
Sony will talk about 360 Spatial Sound and an FNATIC badge. I care whether the dongle stays paired and whether chat is intelligible. At $153 that trade is honest. At $240 I would tell you to keep the headset you already own.
