Pixel 10 Pro Is Still $699 After Pixel 11 Launched — Skip the $899 Upgrade

Pixel 11 starts at $899 for 256GB. Amazon still had 10 Pro 128GB Obsidian from $699. I would take last year's Pro on clearance unless you need Tensor G6 and the new modem.

Verdict: Pixel 10 Pro 128GB Obsidian is the Android phone I would buy this week if the Amazon card is still near $699. Pixel 11 launched August 12 and hit shelves August 20 at $899 for 256GB. That is a $200 premium for Tensor G6 and a new camera pass. Most people should take the $699 leftover.

Prices: Google's Pixel 11 / 11 Pro / 11 Pro XL lists are $899 / $1,099 / $1,299 at 256GB (Google blog, August 12, 2026). Pixel 10 Pro 128GB listed at $999. Amazon and Google ran it at $699 through July; the Amazon product card I pulled still showed new units from $699. ASIN B0FFTT2J6N is unlocked Obsidian 128GB (2025 model). B0FJMJL99C is a gift-card bundle SKU — read the fine print; those cards expire.

I review these from San Francisco, which means I live on Google Maps, Gemini, and a camera that has to work in 5 p.m. fog. Pixel 10 Pro already had the 6.3-inch Super Actua panel, triple rear cameras, Tensor G5, 16 GB RAM, and the "24+ hour" battery line. Pixel 11 adds Tensor G6, a MediaTek M90 modem (Google finally moved off the Exynos modem people loved to hate), Qi2.2 / Pixelsnap at 25W on the base and Pro, and a 256GB floor. That last change is why 11 starts at $899 instead of last year's $799-class 128GB trick.

Why I am not auto-upgrading

I do not have a week of Pixel 11 thermals on a desk logger to publish. I will not invent them. What I do have is eight years of watching Google tax last year's Pro by $200–$300 the week the new one ships, then quietly keep the old SKU at clearance. $699 for 10 Pro is $200 under 11's start and $300 under 10 Pro's own list. The camera is still a Pixel camera. Seven years of OS updates were the 10-generation promise. If you already own a 10 Pro, 11 is an incremental modem-and-AI buy, not a new phone class.

The 128GB cut on 10 Pro is the real limit. If you record 4K and never offload, pay for 256GB or jump to 11's 256GB floor. Do not cheap-out and fill the phone in 11 months.

Versus iPhone this week

iPhone Air at $840 is the thin iOS alternative. 17 Pro Renewed is the camera-bar iOS alternative. Pixel still wins on clean Android, call screening, and a camera that I trust more than Samsung's default sharpening. iPhone still wins if your life is iMessage and a Watch.

Confirm unlocked, new, sold by Amazon or Google. Carrier-locked "renewed" 10 Pros are a different mess.
