Anker 140W 4-Port MacBook Charger: The Smart-Display Brick I Actually Pack

Anker's 140W GaN brick with the wattage display lists at $90 and has been $56β$65 this month. I use it for Air and 14-inch Pro. Here are the nits the Amazon title skips.

Verdict: The Anker 140W 4-port GaN charger with the smart display is the one-brick laptop kit I keep recommending. List is $90. I last verified Amazon around $64.99 (August 3 and again August 12 via 9to5Toys) and B&H at $55.99 on August 12. I will not invent today's Amazon number. Under $65 it is an easy yes.
ASIN B0DFCFTNXM, model A2697 / B2697. Three USB-C + one USB-A, ports on the bottom so cables hang the same direction, fold-out US prongs, a color screen that rotates 90Β°, and a 5 ft 240W USB-C cable in the box. Each USB-C can do 140W alone. Split the pie and the main port falls toward 65W with all four loaded β Anker's own distribution, not a surprise.
I have used a stack of 65W "MacBook chargers" that throttle the moment you add a phone. This one is the size of a large deck of cards (about 2.7 Γ 2.7 Γ 1.4 inches, ~10 oz) and replaces Apple's 70W and 96W bricks for Air / 14-inch Pro duty. Anker claims a 15-inch Air to 50% in 30 minutes on a single USB-C port. That is their timed claim. I have not re-run that stopwatch this week, so I am not dressing it up as my benchmark.
The display is not a gimmick β until it is
The screen shows watts, temperature, and which port is doing what. Touch cycles the views. If you have ever wondered why a laptop is sipping 28W instead of 96W, this answers it without a USB power meter. That is the Stanford-engineer part of my brain. The reviewer part says: you are also paying for a screen you will ignore after week two. ActiveShield 3.0 (Anker's temperature-monitoring pitch) is why I still prefer this brand over no-name 140W bricks that smell like a hair dryer.
Nits
- Bottom-facing ports are cleaner on a nightstand and worse if the outlet is already crowded with a fat plug.
- 140W total is not 140W Γ 4. Read the matrix.
- A 16-inch MacBook Pro on a heavy compile still prefers Apple's higher-watt brick if you own one. This is an Air / 14-inch / Steam Deck / iPad / phone brick.
- The included 240W cable is a real accessory. Do not toss it and use a 60W noodle, then email me that "140W is fake."
Versus the rest of this batch
If you wanted one Apple travel kit, I would take this brick plus a cable over a 3-in-1 MagSafe stand for a work trip, and the MagSafe stand over this brick for a nightstand. Different jobs. The dock in my other post includes a 140W adapter too β do not buy both unless you like extra bricks.
Warranty on the listing is 18 months. Sold by Anker / Amazon. Confirm "adapter + 5 ft cable" in the title. There are look-alike ASINs without the cable.
