Addtam 6-Outlet Strip Is $9.99 — The Anker at $21.59 Is 12 Plugs, Not a Steal

Our catalog has the Addtam 5 ft 6-outlet USB strip at $9.99 (ignore $15.99) and the Anker 12-outlet at $21.59. That is $11.60 for extra sockets. I would keep the $11 unless I can name the 12th plug.

Verdict: The Addtam 5 ft surge strip, 6 outlets and 4 USB is the one I would put under a desk. The Anker 5 ft strip, 12 AC plus USB-C is more sockets and a 20W USB-C port. Our catalog today, August 25, 2026, has the Addtam at $9.99 (card list $15.99) and the Anker at $21.59 (card list $23.99). That is $11.60 for extra plugs. I would keep the eleven dollars unless I can name the 12th thing I plug in.

I used to model cost-per-use in Chicago. A power strip is a spreadsheet with a cord. This site already has Anker dock and charger write-ups. This is not a dock. This is a surge bar you hide behind a nightstand.

What it is

The Addtam is a flat-plug indoor strip: 6 AC, 4 USB (the listing says USB-C 5V/3A max, USB-A 5V/2.4A), 5 ft cord, mount holes, on/off switch, 900-joule surge claim. 4.8 from about 19,500 ratings. 15A / 125V class of bar. It is the dorm/desk shape: low profile, USB on the end so the wall wart does not eat an outlet.

The Anker A9192 is the wide bar: 12 AC, 2 USB-A, 1 USB-C at 20W, 5 ft cord, 2100-joule surge claim, TUV listed on the title, spaced outlets for bricks. 4.8 from about 18,900 ratings. The listing talks 0–50% on an iPhone 15 in 26 minutes on that USB-C port. That is Anker's number, not a stopwatch I sat with.

Who it's for

Buy the Addtam at $9.99 if the job is a lamp, a laptop brick, a monitor, and two phones. Six AC plus USB covers a desk I actually use. Flat plug matters behind a dresser. $9.99 is the number. $15.99 is the strikethrough.

Buy the Anker at $21.59 if you are powering a TV console, a work-from-home dock farm, or you want 20W USB-C on the strip so a phone brick can leave. Twelve outlets is the feature. 2100J is a bigger surge number on paper. I will not pretend I measured a spike.

Who should skip

Skip the Addtam if you needed 12 spaced outlets or a 20W USB-C that replaces a small wall charger. Skip it if you needed a 10-foot cord — we have a longer Addtam card at a higher number; this ASIN is 5 ft.

Skip the Anker if you cannot name more than six things. Skip it as a "deal" off $23.99. That is a $2.40 trim, not a sale. Skip it if you already own an Anker dock that ate the USB-C job — do not pay $21.59 to duplicate a port.

Honest nits

  • Fake-list watch. Addtam $15.99 → $9.99 is the usual 38% banner. I would believe $9.99. I would not wait for $7. Anker $23.99 → $21.59 is almost honest MSRP theater. You are paying about $22.
  • Joules are not a personality. 900 versus 2100 is a spec. A strip is not a whole-house suppressor. Unplug in a thunderstorm if you are the type. I am.
  • USB is slow on the Addtam. 5V/3A is phone-and-earbuds charging, not a laptop. Anker's 20W USB-C is the only USB here I would use on purpose for a modern iPhone. That is worth money only if you will use it.
  • I am not opening the case to count MOVs. Both cards talk surge protection. Buy from Amazon, keep the receipt.

Value verdict

Buy the Addtam for a desk, a dorm, a nightstand. Buy the Anker if 12 AC and 20W USB-C are the job and $21.59 does not sting. Buy neither if you needed a 10-foot cord or a heavy-duty 15A shop strip — these are indoor desk bars.

Worth the $11.60 premium? Only if you can point at the extra six outlets this week.
